Today, we had an exciting session during the Go Further Conference with girl students from 6-8 grades from the Iowa region. Alexis March, one of my fellow mates at the Iowa State University’s Bioinformatics graduate program, and I discussed the scope of Bioinformatics and future careers for students who opted for it. We also played two online games(EteRNA and Phylo), mimicking how bioinformatics scientists help in solving real-life biology problems. It was fun interaction overall!
